Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe (Keto, Low-Carb, Vegan)
#SugarFreeSeptember: 30 days of sugar-free recipes
A delicious Autumn flavored sugar-free Starbucks copycat pumpkin spice latte recipe! It’s keto, vegan-friendly, and contains absolutely no blood sugar spiking alternative sweeteners. Inspired by the yummy fall flavours of pumpkin pie, this sugar-free pumpkin spice latte will be your go-to drink during those months of crisp late year weather!
My family and close friends and I have this little yearly tradition where we only start drinking pumpkin spice flavoured drinks during the ‘official’ Autumn season, to keep our fall feeling ‘authentic’. Yes, I know, it’s silly, but it’s just kinda what we do.
But this year I slipped up.
Two weeks ago (or just abouts) I gave in a made a pumpkin spice latte as soon as Starbucks brought theirs out, and broke the tradition. Suffice it to say that my brother in particular was not pleased.
Basically, official first day of pumpkin spice season a.k.a. the autumn equinox is right around the corner - just so close - and I couldn’t wait for my fave drink!
My favorite fall tradition is to cozy up on my bed, in my fall decorated room (yes I decorate), with the autumn light peering through the window and read a really good book, with a cup of pumpkin spice latte in my hand.
The day Starbucks announced their annual pumpkin spice latte release, I had a meetup with friends at guess where - Starbucks.
I went to the meet up at lunch time, and the whole time I was there I kept seeing the pumpkin spice latte ads and other people buying their drinks, and I felt little jealous about having to wait.
I couldn’t help it - I popped back to Starbucks that day after dinner and got a PSL. And so the tradition was broken, and I’ve been drinking pumpkin spice ever since.
Traditions aside, I know that in any case pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks aren’t exactly good for you - lucky for me it was a treat day, but after that I started Sugar Free September, where I’m eating (and drinking) no sugar for the whole 30 days.
Now, as I’m also sharing recipes everyday this month, I thought why not make up a recipe for a healthy and sugar-free pumpkin spice latte so I can still enjoy those sweet, sweet, Autumn flavours?
Luckily, I already knew how to make a pumpkin spice latte (as I make it every year at home for the family), but the only difference is that I usually don’t make it healthy and with no sugar.
Actually my friends and family a lot of times prefer my homemade pumpkin spice latte as it has no additives and has a better sweet and seasonal spice balance.
And so my quest to make a healthy, no-sugar added PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE, that still tasted just as good began. Since it’s sugar free I had make sugar the psl didn’t have an aggressive pumpkin spice flavor, and instead had that sweet and flavorful balance we all know and love.
And... YIPPEE after three different attempts to make a healthy and sugar-free pumpkin spice latte, I found the perfect one! (Do excuse the leaning tower of cream)!
Oh my, this homemade sugar-free pumpkin spice latte tastes stupendously delicious and is every bit as delicious as that one you get at Starbucks.
And it’s VEGAN-FRIENDLY - you heard that right!
Plus, this homemade version doesn't come with all those 40 grams of carbs (with 39 of those grams coming from SUGAR), all those yucky artificial flavors and additives (like in the average tall, whole milk, whipped cream, STARBUCKS pumpkin spice latte), and you can drink it anytime, not just on a cheat day!
It’s like taking a sip of autumn!
That’s why I’ve chosen to share my healthy homemade sugar-free pumpkin spice latte for day 10 recipe of sugar free September - it seems only fitting, and surely delivers the seasonal goods!
Yummy and creamy, with a mild coffee taste and flavorful notes of the cinnamon, nutmeg and clove (which provide a pungent, slightly nutty and sweet aroma) and a hint of fruity pumpkin.
If you want to be healthy, eat less (or no) sugar in your life, but LOVE coffee, pumpkin and spices, then sheesh y’all what are you waiting for? This sugar free pumpkin spice latte is just right for you!
NOTE: Be careful though to read the label when buying pumpkin puree, as it tends to have hidden sugar and if you are not a fan of pumpkin than you can sub it with greek yogurt.
Before you get sipping! Can you not get enough pumpkin spice this season? I have some more fab sugar free autumnal pumpkin spice recipes for you, like this yummy Pumpkin Spice Overnight Oats recipe and my gorgeously scrumptious Pumpkin Spice Creamer!
With all of that said, here’s your recipe!
