Sugar-Free Fruity Coconut Power-Pops (and How to Deal With Sugar Cravings)

There was a time, when I dreamt all day long about what sweet, yummy, sugary delight I was going to consume later that day. 🍨 Honestly, I had a double-dose affliction of sweet-tooth syndrome!
I would just about manage to keep it at bay and eat healthily throughout the day, but, as the late afternoon drew closer, the sugary urges would break me.
I was literally sugar obsessed, and it was really out-of-control! 😲
I was unable to RESIST something sweet at night, and it was near impossible to resist the idea of ‘JUST A BITE’, one bite lead to two, three, and you can guess the rest from there.
It felt impossible to watch others eat or drink a sweet snack without obsessively hankering after a taste of it for myself. 🤤
I’m making light of it, but later on I found out that I had a hormone imbalance (who knew the two were related?). 🤔 To make things worse, I was also being hit with one horrible health condition after another (like injuries, acne, and weight issues), and sugar, as it turned out, was one of the major culprits. 🧁
I didn’t want to ‘med-my-way-out’ of it (meaning: try to heal myself through prescribed medications), so I had to overhaul my lifestyle.
One major element of that meant I needed to tweak my food and beverage choices, and align with my mind to beat my negative sugar-enabling habits.
So in my journey to conquer my sugar cravings for good, dear friends, I whipped-on my apron, got experimenting in my kitchen, and conjured up the most utterly divine, totally scrummy, sweet fruit popsicles!
I named them ‘Power Pops’, because they are so good for you too!
They are ridiculously easy to make, sugar-free, low carb and easy on the wallet (the only hits you take are the Sweet Drops Liquid Stevia Vanilla Crème, but it lasts a long time because you don’t need much of it and the purchase of the popsicle molds if you don’t have any).
With all of that said, here’s your recipe!
Now for some sugar-busting advice!
As you can see from the recipe, the ingredients are incredibly good for you, especially the coconut milk. It’s a super-food high in healthy fats which every pantry should have. 🥥
I won’t bore you with all the science in this post, but coconut milk can help you lower cholesterol levels, improve blood pressure, and prevent heart attacks or a stroke.
It’s also a very sustaining and filling fat-burner AND can help you lose weight. The School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at McGill University found in a study that:
‘Consumption of a diet rich in MCTs results in greater loss of fat (adipose tissue) compared with long-chain fatty acids, perhaps due to increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation observed with MCT intake. MCTs may be considered as agents that aid in the prevention of obesity or potentially stimulate weight loss.’
You can’t ask for more than that, right?!
Just remember, when you buy it, be sure to find the purest coconut milk you can. In particular, be sure to get the organic, unpasteurized kind where you can; and absolutely NOT a coconut milk with added sugar or sweeteners, preservatives, artificial sweeteners.
Oh, and preferably in BPA-free cans!
How I Used These Pops For My Sweet Tooth
These pops are so delicious that you can you them as a replacement for your unhealthy sweet treat when you’re having a craving. I found them brilliant for helping me break my night-time ice-cream habit, as they are satiating, sweet and cold. 😋
It help me break my mental obsession.
Also, as they don’t actually contain sugar, it meant that the physical addiction of my desire for cold sweetness was broken at the same time. Bingo! Success.

Recap Of What To Watch Out For When Buying The Ingredients
If you’re buying frozen fruit, be sure to read the label to check they don’t have any added anything. (Hint: processed sugar by another name)
Buy the purest coconut milk you can. (Hint: organic, unpasteurized)
Always be on the lookout for any added sugar or sweeteners, preservatives, artificial sweeteners - food companies stick them in everywhere!
