4 Popular Natural Botanical Supplements and Their Benefits

#SugarBalancedLiving

Botanical supplements are all the rage and certain products are rapidly rising in popularity. When we talk about healthy supplements like these, we’re referencing products made using natural things from flowers, plants or herbs. In a lot of cases, they can provide a diversity of health benefits without the downsides associated with more chemical or unnatural supplements.

If you’re interested in trying some trending botanicals for natural health benefits, here are a few currently taking the world by storm and what they can do!

Arnica Montana

Often referred to as Arnica, this European flowering plant has some supposed benefits for pain relief. Arnic seeds are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and many companies use Arnica oil to create massage gels. The results are fairly promising with users claiming these gels help to relieve muscle tension and bring relief from aches and pains.

CBD

Cannabidiol, usually shortened to CBD, is a phytocannabinoid from the cannabis plant. With increased popularity, CBD-based products from companies like CBDistillery have started to be produced in all forms, such as gummies, oils, tinctures, creams and gels. CBD’s purported benefits are also varied, including stress relief, chronic pain treatment, help with insomnia and more.

Lion’s Mane

This is a type of mushroom found on trees in forests that supposedly has loads of great health benefits. Supplement companies are grind it down, and turn it into powder for shakes, coffees and much more. The primary benefit is that Lion’s Mane can help improve concentration and focus, and as a result it’s usually sold as a focus-enhancing supplement, which is very popular among students. Alongside this, experts believe it could be a treatment for chronic headaches or migraines in some individuals. There are even a few early studies claiming this fungus may hold the key to preventing early-onset dementia, but we’re still looking for more evidence!

Ashwagandha

You’ve likely heard of ashwagandha already, picking up steam everywhere online and in health supplement stores. It’s a nightshade plant, but the roots and leaves are popularly harvested to create a range of botanical supplements. Like everything on this list, the research is still fairly early and more is needed to provide concrete evidence. Nevertheless, the early signs are pretty promising with ashwagandha shown as a good treatment for anxiety.

There’s an interesting fact sheet from the National Institutes of Health with loads of information on this particular botanical, reporting that some studies found ashwagandha significantly reduced stress and anxiety, resulting in less fatigue and sleeplessness.

Although we’re still learning more about these natural solutions, and they’re not as thoroughly researched as they can be, that doesn’t mean they won’t help you ease different physical or mental health problems. The overall reports are positive and plenty of people say all four of these things help in one way or another. Have you had any experiences (positive or negative) with these supplements?
